South America – Iguassu Falls; Peru & Bolivia
Iguassu Fallsa
Target Travel, Iguassu Falls a once in a lifetime trip. Located on the borders of Brazil; Argentina and Paraguay, everyone should see Iguassu Falls once. Rather than a single great body of water like Niagara, Iguassu (aka Iguazzu) is hundreds of falls dotted along a cliff edge. We feel for a Target Travel, Iguassu Falls perfect trip, it should start spending with a night spent at a classical cliff-top hotel on the Brazil side. To enable you to walk the beautiful enthiused pathways that meander the cliff’s side, to look down on the numerous falls across the river. Then our local agent would assist in crossing the border to the Argentine side. Stay here at another hotel and from its garden, you can walk among the falls themselves and see the water crashing through the jungle canopy like a shampoo advert, often with clouds of butterflies, it is truly a magical place. This is often done as a side trip to other parts of South America and most of our clients describe it as one of the highlights. I have been three times and each has been as marvelous as the first.
The lost city of Machu Picchu, Cuzco and Lake Titicaca
Another dream trip is to Peru and Bolivia. It is very important that you acclimatise well to the altitude. To ensure this we strongly suggest a brief stay in the Sacred Valley, before moving on by the Orient Express luxury train to Machu Picchu. Most clients prefer to stay overnight at the Sanctuary adjacent to the ruins, so they can experience this magical place without the crowds at dusk and dawn. Onward then by rail to the city of Cuzco where the additional altitude should then not be an issue. After a day or two here, you can fly or take The Andean Explorer train to Lake Titicaca. Again worth a couple of nights’ stopover to see the floating islands and experience its unusual calm and solitude. Many of our clients return pleasantly surprised with how much they enjoy the finale here.
Our local agents are long-term associates and will ensure the arrangements are with English-speaking guides and on a private basis. This is a rough framework to expand and contract into the best fit, please call to discuss.
